Not Your Mary Sue by Rebecca Frost

4.0

This was a complex and interesting journey and it messed with my mind - it would be so much easier to hate the serial killer if the story started before the murders.

It starts off very "misery-esque" but is no way a rip-off of the story. The way he interacts with her and tries to draw her in, they're not kidding when they say it's a psychological thriller. It was also full of twists and turns and character arcs which was great to follow.

It did slow down a bit about halfway through and I thought that section could have been a bit shorter, but then the ending really picked up again. I also had a couple of minor niggles, but that's all they were.

This was Rebecca's first fiction novel, she usually writes true crime - which leant itself wonderfully to this book. I hope she continues to write more fiction, I will be on the look out.
