Rooted in Grimm brothers fantasy and Arthurian legend, this was a phenomenal base for a unique new world I know myself and the wider fantasy community are going to become obsessed with.
We follow the twins, whose history is shrouded in mystery, and Gwen who finds them while on a mission to prove herself. Something inexplicable seems to draw them together, and as more creatures of legend are appearing where they don’t belong, more and more they are drawn to understanding/ solving the mystery between these dark creatures and their seemingly connect magic.
Much of this centres around the book of curse Melodie’s and many of the late members of the faymore covens journey to understand the ancient magics. I loved the uniqueness of bloom magic and savonettes as while other fantasy’s have shared aspects such as the cursed books and saving their world, those aspects were completely unique even in a genre so widely done.
While I knew there was some slow growing affection I was happily surprised by the sapphicness of it, and astrids oblivion to her own feelings is just like me for real. Overall, I was enchanted by the betrayal/ twist and cannot wait to see our trio further develop and see where their journey goes onto.
