first ever reread in this, the year, 2020. haven't read it since the paperback released in 2006, even though I've seen the movie TONS. definitely more cringey now than when I was 18, but I enjoyed all the drama and cringeyness anyway.
obviously, criticism regarding twilight is VERY valid. Edward is weirdly stalker-ish and controlling, the insta love and strong...attachment? Bella has borders on unhealthy, but I can see why those things didn't really register to me when I was younger. Its still a pretty fun read overall and it was nice to have all these memories triggered by all this nostalgia.
definitely encourage any teens you know that read this today to understand that a lot of this relationship isn't necessarily healthy irl, but I wouldn't personally say nobody should ever read it. it's definitely a product of it's time either way and I'm absolutely hopping right into New Moon again asap
