It was alright. Definitely a " no plot just vibes" type of story. It was funny, but half the time it felt like I was just laughing because I was uncomfortable. Dark/stalker romance isn't really my thing, but I gave it a shot because my friend swore up and down it was amazing and said I would love this since I liked Butcher and Blackbird.
The spice was very spicy and while I personally am not into knife play and the "no safeword" rule made me uncomfortable. I couldn't help but think, " You know what? Good for her." I love to see stories where both parties are giving enthusiastic and constant consent.
I also really liked that we got more insight into Josh and why he is the way he is in a way that actually made him endearing.
Some of the only downsides were that I found themurder subplot a little lackluster. Like the story kind of went downhill for me from there.
Also the audiobook is what made this story entertaining. I probably would have DNFd if I were just reading a physical copy.
