Hook, Line, and Sinker by Tessa Bailey

Tessa Bailey has been very hit or miss for me. While I really enjoyed It Happened One Summer, this one just didn’t do it for me. I wanted to like Hannah and Fox’s story but unfortunately I was so bored. This book started off at a good pace but soon fell down hill. I think part of my issue was just how hard the author was pushing for them to be a thing. This is a romance book, I know it’s coming, but why did we have to push the character to try and fulfill Fox’s “player” role. I would have much preferred to see the friendship they had been building since the first book really take center stage and form into a relationship, instead of what we did get. I also found some of their interacts to be very cringe. Some scenes were just tuff to get through. The only reason I made it through this was from skimming the last half. I really wanted to love this, it just didn’t work out that way.
