The Walking Dead Vol. 4: The Heart's Desire by Robert Kirkman

1.0

These are so bad, yet I can't stop reading them. I guess I'm just curious to see the plot differences between this and the TV series (the TV show is far superior to the comic).

This volume was equally ridiculous as the last two.
SpoilerWe see (the amazing in the TV show) Michonne blowing Tyreese; following that, Carol tries to commit suicide and fails miserably; Rick and Tyreese fight over who's the alpha male; Andrea, who is proclaimed by the group as "the best shot", and until yesterday wanted in on all the action the boys were having, decides to give all that up and become a seamstress (bitches be crazy, right?). Meanwhile Glenn and Maggie's only interest is where they'll get laid next; and Lori contributes nothing to the plot, whatsoever. Oh, and Allen dies, but he was mopey and useless, so all the better. AND YOU ALSO EXPECT ME TO BELIEVE THAT NONE OF THE 7 (yes, seven) ADULT WOMEN IN THE GROUP WANTED TO BE IN THE COMMITTEE?? LIKE, YOU REALLY EXPECT ME TO BELIEVE THAT? That seven women would be so glad to leave all the decision-making to the men? WTF??! Just because it's an apocalyptic scenario, doesn't mean they also went back in time.

The writing is really terrible. It's misogynistic as hell: all the women characters are portrayed as sex-crazed harpies, they also need to be protected by the men and leave all the decisions to the men because their crazy hormones would ruin everything, right? (how old is the writer again?), no one has no integrity at all, and it's getting worse in every volume.

Will this continue to go downhill? We'll find out in the next volume.
