Read aloud to my 8-year old. He LOVED it and gives it 5 stars.
I honestly didn’t care for it at all. Despite being about a magical circus, it somehow never felt magical at all, and I found all the characters very dull.
But I’m glad my son enjoyed it! He was thrilled to see that here will be a sequel in the fall and is already on the library hold list for it.
