Spare
by Prince Harry
I am an unashamed Royal watcher- so I knew I had to give this one a read (despite being a huge fan of Catherine, Princess of Wales). I loved Harry’s raw approach to those formative years following the death of his mother and especially the second part about his time in military service. You could feel the intense passion he feels for helping wounded veterans and their families- it was beautiful to bear witness to it.
4 stars because I had to eye roll a bit during his chapters about he and Meghan. I love how loyal and devoted he is to his wife- absolutely as any husband should be. However, he painted Meghan to be a saint, which just is not true of any person. I felt those chapters would have been much more believable and less “eye-rolley” if there had been stories of not just triumphs, but also stumbles of hers. It would have humanized them (and her) more to me and made the rest more authentic.
Definitely would recommend to any fellow Royal watchers- but remember that this is only one side of a big complex story.
