“Power did not lie in the tip of a pen.
Power did not work against its own interests. Power could only be brought to heel by acts of defiance it could not ignore.
With brute, unflinching force. With violence.”
This is my first work of R.F. Kuang and let’s say this story is absolutely unforgettable. It took me a while to get the story because of the amount of historical infos.
The last 70-75% of the book flew by so fast. I couldn’t stop reading.
As a person of colour this was a little hard to get through and to digest it.
Everything about this book is amazing. To the characters- to the setting-the corrupted system/hierarchy and the plot itself.
I probably need therapy after all the trauma R.F. Kuang put me through.
