Poison Throne by Jaymin Eve, Tate James

I think I was slightly gripped when I read these books because I read them in rapid succession, and found it difficult to put them down. But it’s just over half a week since I’ve had them, and I can’t even remember much of what happens.

So overall enjoyable but entirely forgettable.

Notes when reading:

A lot of political contradictions (royals supporting a rebellion against the system, y’all make me chuckle). Something that would literally be impossible if you even slightly deeped it. But I am for sure entertained.

I’m not getting intense chemistry from the three MCs. But the plot is a bit batshit, so together the chemistry and plot are balancing this book out to an okay read. It’s a bit amateurish but that sort of adds to the mess factor.

Also, making it seem like the MCs king and queen parents are just amazing ppl who care soooooooo much about their ppl, idk. It sorta gave monarchy apologist. And sorta hella unrealistic that so many royals, monarchies and aristocrats are fighting for the rights of the ppl as part of a rebellion. I’m entertained but it also pulls me out of the story, bc we all know no one at the top is fighting for any of us down here babe.
