I decided to pick it up again after dropping it almost a year ago, because there were many things I didn't like about it, but I thought to myself "how worse can it get?". Oh little did I know.
First of all, let's start by saying that I don't seem to have a degrading kink and I really don't like when men say questionable things outside or inside the bedroom, so these scenes made me uncomfortable, as well as Alex's whole personality (possessive, rude, stalker, liar...).
The plot became more and more unhidged and ridiculous, and I wondered for a moment if I have picked another book by accident, because there was not reason at all for it to turn into a murder/horror story.
So yeah, I'm gonna think twice before I read a booktok recommendation ever again.

Alex became a murderer and literally no one questioned it? Like yeah girl, he lied to you, but he also killed two people (tortured the second to death) and then burned the house down to get rid of the evidence. And all of that when Ava is literally a murder survivor herself. Make it make sense.So yeah, I'm gonna think twice before I read a booktok recommendation ever again.
