I really, really, really like this one. I like the murder mystery. I like the setting of the world. I like the characters, a lot.

The murder mystery has been, while not new, still pretty engaging and interesting to read. I loved reading about Chris investigating stuff and finding out who did it and why.

The background of the world? Wow and terrifying. Being locked into your body is a scary thought when you think that our technology does not have any solution for it. In this world? Still scary but at least there are places like the Agora, you are able to communicate with other people and there are the Threeps. I also love all the issues that have been addressed (being poor, government cutting funding because of some assholes pushing a bill, Native Americans beging screwed over by the government, the debate between finding a cure or making sure people are treated as if they aren't ill and so on).

I love Vann and Shane. Yeah, we don't get to see that much about Vann but I still like her a lot. And Shane? Yeah, Hook. Line. Sinker. Also, if his damaging four threeps in his first week of work doesn't become a running gag, I don't know. XD

I also love the background characters no matter how short or long we meet them.

Also, bonus points of the novel (even if some of these things are just mentioned in passing and don't have impact on the story per se):

Female main character who is 40.
Male main character who is biracial.
A gay couple in which one of them is the CEO of a huge company.
Star Wars reference.

So, yeah, I really like this story and I might have squeed a bit when I saw that there will be a sequel. :)
