I love me an Emmy Sanders book. Once you pop, you cannot stop, and I was soooo happy to head back to Darling Ranch for an enemies to lovers - small town -- light bdsm situation.
I went into this book a Colt girl, and I left the book a Noah girl. Noah was just, so good! Noah's the first to admit that his feelings/the circumstances of their rivalry-relationship has changed. And for the most part, he faces that with open communication?! And care, and awareness of Colt's emotional needs! I mean, come on!
The pacing of their relationship development wasn't rushed. There did need to be some suspension of disbelief as two people who had never previously been in a same sex relationship, came to terms with their new reality, pretty easily. (But Darling IS a shockingly beautiful utopia where small minds are in short supply, and acceptance is tall!)
The final 40% especially made me swoon, cry, and shake my fist at Emmy for both! I'm excited for book 3, Lawson's friends to lovers/second chance situation! But my truest love is Remi, our young, observant family sage... and likely the final book. <3
