Quick and fun read. If you like zombies it’s a great, fast paced story. I like that it focuses on the early days. Sometimes the jump from initial outbreak to post apocalyptic endgame is too sudden in this genre so appreciate the focus on the early chaos.

Reasoning for outbreak is a little farcical in my opinion. Some minor issues:

The knife being mentioned and never being used or thought about was hard to believe when the whole focus is killing a few zombies. If they decide it’s too close quarters to use, fine. But to not take it with you or even discuss was a bit hard to believe.

Also, how the zombies got out of the house needed to be fleshed out. Since the whole concept is how one mistake moment can lead to the end of the world, it’s important to cover how zombies got out of the house.
