"'When I’m with you, I feel-' he paused. 'Feral. Like I might lose control.'”

It has been a minute since I've read a truly enjoyable vampire romance. And this one did not disappoint.
I really thought I was going to love Adam, and for a hot second I did. There were a few moments at the beginning, after I got over him saving her that something wasn't sitting right about him. He was a little too conveniently good to be true. I also don't trust a single freaking thing this man says.
And then there's Julian. My God do I love an MMC that makes me want to punch them in the face after first meeting them. Then turning around and being the biggest marshmallow. Major Spike vibes (who might be my favorite vampire of all time). Like Sarah I didn't want to love him but damn did he make it hard not to. The secret keeping though and the flip-flopping I can do without.
Sarah is so sassy. Because we get her POV, we get to see her thought process and how she struggles with being a new vampire. The way she feels so torn between what her life as a human was and coming to terms with the circumstances of her being made feels real. And I think that's what I like most about her as a character.
I think there's a clear winner for me for who I want her to be with going into the second book, but it could really go either way I love how this story keeps me guessing.
