I am unable to write lengthy reviews at the moment, but suffice to say that of the 150+ romances I have read, I identify nearly 100% with this female character. There was such narrative resonance that I cried at many parts of this book. From her sensory struggles, her wanting to not disappear into motherhood, her conviction that she mattered, to her friends dependence on her theoretical mind, and to her wanting love yet terrified of heterosexual arrangements because of the abundance evidence to its many entrapments- I am her and she is me. I cannot thank Evie Dunmore enough for writing me, unbeknownst to her, as a character.
