Autonomous by Annalee Newitz
4.0

A good combination of piracy and robotics.

Autonomous is an intriguing sightseeing into a foreseeable future of intellectual robots.

The story follows two protagonists. Yes, you guessed it right. One's a pirate, the other's a robot. It is an interesting tale of self-discovery and the desire to do what's right.

In terms of characters, this book is really great. It didn't disappoint. With just a few pages, you'd think that the characters are not well-developed. But you'd be stupid to think that in this one. They are witty, interesting, and very easy to relate to. It is especially true with the robot.

The writing is good. Very fluid. Easy to get used to.

As for the plot, it is stunning. It was surreal. It's as if the possibility of it all is inevitable even in the real world. The author really did her research in creating this world and in writing a story that resounds so well with the actuality of life.

My only problem with this book was the amount of info dumping it did. I was very much overwhelmed with all the information I got in the first few chapters of the book.

Additionally, I wasn't really fond of how this ended. But I feel like it was still the best choice the Annalee Newitz had.

Overall, this is an awesome read. Would I recommend it? DEFINITELY! I can also say that this might become one of my very few rereads.
