I have avoided reading Dean Koontz in the past. I am sure there was some reason that made sense at the time, but I don't recall it. When I saw that one of the main characters in this book was a golden retriever, I could not resist any longer. As I write this review, my own golden is curled in a ball next to me. I was very impressed with Koontz's style, it was easy to read and well-paced. I don't think I will be avoiding him any longer.
