3.5 Second Chance Stars

Harley's life hit rock bottom the night she confessed to her best friend Tyson. After pinning after Ty for years she finally has the courage to confess, only to have her heart thrown back at her. Her life is changed that night when something unspeakable happens to her. Fast forward five years later, where Harley has finally pieced her heart back together and is content. The worst night of her life gave her the best gift and she's slowly but surely moving on.

Tyson's biggest regret happened five years ago. After flat out rejecting Harley he realizes he made a mistake. Now, he's moved back to their hometown and his goal is to win Harley back and have her forgive him. He soon realizes this is easier said than done, as Harley has secrets about what happened five years ago after he left her heartbroken. Together they can fall apart or fall back together to find where they belong.

This was a nice read for me and I enjoyed it, reading it completely in one day, Harley is a character you can't help but feel for. She's been through Hell and landed right back on her feet. After such a traumatic experience she begins to piece herself together and finds her silver lining. Tyson was an okay character for me. I just didn't care for him like I initially thought I would. However, he plays a big part in putting Harley's present life in place. As for the secondary characters, I loved Quinn, Levi, and Max. All these people helped Harley when she was in a dark place and were perfect to the story.

The only reason I didn't rate it higher was due to some of the drama I didn't find necessary. Such as the bar scene where Ty is completely oblivious that he's flirting with a girl when Harley was in the corner. However, the twist was interesting even though i did put it together before it was revealed. It was also refreshing to see characters who could have made a love triangle remain platonic and encourage Harley and Ty to become a couple which is why I gave this book 3.5 stars. Overall I enjoyed this book and recommend it for anyone who likes to read about childhood friends and second chances.
