I went into this book blind, and I’m not sure I would’ve read it if I knew what it was about. But it kind of wasn’t about anything? But it was at the same time? I don’t know. I feel sad. It was depressing and the characters are so sad and depressing. It’s not the kind of book I reach for. I also don’t love the style where there’s no quotes around dialogue, I find it takes me a lot longer to read that kind of book. I didn’t love it but I also wanted to know how it ended. The ending was sad but hopeful but sad.
