Wow what a crazy read! Definitely a lot of extremely upsetting elements in this book, and you are left completely unsettled the entire time. I love how he revealed the ending right in the very beginning, as it creates such tension in the novel as you wonder how it will escalate.

My only real complaint is I wish it was longer -- I think the escalation (or descent into madness) would be even more dramatic had we seen this progress even longer. And not necessarily over a longer period or time, because I kind of like how she manages to become so unravelled so quickly. But as a reader, I just needed more detail - maybe even a deeper look into her past. They were talking on AIM for crying out loud - who DIDN'T use that as their own personal therapy session?? If you're ever going to pick a place to reveal your deep dark secrets, it's IM! But I just never really got a good grasp on either of them, even a little bit more detail would have really cinched the ending for me.
