If there's one thing that becomes increasingly evident as I read more Richard Osman books, it is that I really fucking love his writing. I would read anything the man writes. This book followed the same tried and true formula of the Thursday Murder Club series, albeit a little more intricate than it with a lot more going on—which seems to have bothered a lot of reviewers on Goodreads whose brains have been rotten by TikTok and have no retention or attention span as a result—along with a healthy mixture of fun, adventure and even a bit of sorrow.
It took me just under three days, three very-busy days, to finish this book; which should tell you how grappling and unputdownable it was. The characters were absolutely amazing and even the bad guys (and girls) were likeable; I don't know if that's a good thing, but I liked it.
Reading Osman's books have made me realise how much I love dry-British humor. Excellent book. 10/10
