Wow and holy shit is all I have to say about this epic conclusion to Carter and Aria’s story in the Merciless Series. This last book will take you on a rollercoaster of ups and downs, WTF and OMG moments. At one point I may have messaged Willow and said I can’t believe you… (No spoilers here!!! You’ll have to check it out!) The ending will have you simultaneously wanting to throw and hug your book as Carter and Aria come to the final chapter of their tumultuous love story.
I think my favorite piece of the entire series was the touch of Magical Realism at the ending! Having studied Latin American Literature in college, this was an amazing little treasure to take the story to the next level. There is an amazing subtle beauty to the magical realism genre and I just adored this nod to it in the ending.
Overall, this amazing series is gritty, sexy, and also sweet. It will leave you delightfully frustrated with the angst of the love story, flipping pages to see what happens next, and maybe even shaking your fist in the air when something crazy happens, both good and bad. I highly recommend this series if you like dark romance and the mafia genre. It will not leave you wanting!
