I Am Not a Serial Killer by Dan Wells

3.0

⭐️: 3.25/5

I enjoyed this book very much, and would recommend it. A fast and engaging read. It’s a delightful little slice into the minds of angry teenage white boys. So desperate to be anything other than mediocre. Other than basic. Other than their fathers before them.

Obsessed with violence and a concocted lone wolf complex. He is desperate to unleash his vengeance onto a society that he believes doesn’t understand him. Nevermind that he doesn’t participate in nor puts any effort into being a member of society.

John Wayne Carver is not a serial killer. He’s not even a psychopath, contrary to his therapist’s diagnosis. He’s an anti-social teenaged boy obsessed with serial killers. Lucky for him he gets to play out his psycho-killer fantasy in real life. And if all goes well, he’ll also get to be the hero, which would validate this lifestyle choice of his. And would finally allow his friends and family to see the value in his obsessions.
