never in my whole muslim life have i heard another muslim just randomly recite the shahada in a conversation. come on, tanya. do you mean inshallah? mashallah? wallahi?
i started skimming the book as soon as i saw that shit about both denir brothers liking "fair skin and blonde hair, the fairer the better" bc it was different from the boring brown skinned people they grew up around in india. big, giant fucking yikes. if you're going to write from the perspective of a muslim who grew up in india--i'd implore you to do a bit more research than that. preferring "fairer the better" isn't something you can just say with no further commentary. and i'm not even gonna comment on the whole "indian men are ok w fucking other men but not loving them". are you out of your mind?
that aside.... damn was aayan EVER comfortable with domming or sadism? bc literally 80% of the book was just him saying no and the other guy pressuring him? like that was not handled well at all. if your partner is so uncomfortable with it maybe don't do it??????
