Eragon by Christopher Paolini

3.0

The world-building in this book is vast and detailed. There are still mysteries and unknowns about specific characters and races (the elves, dwarves, etc.) still unanswered. Still, I feel that will be accomplished with the continuation of the books. It was entertaining and is an excellent entry to the fantasy genre. I'm looking forward to learning more about the dragon lore, which initially brought me to the series. There are character tropes that are apparent in other fantasy tales. Still, the author provides enough distinction not to feel stereotypical and flat.
