Overall a fun, quick read. Dual POV romance. Cute take on getting stuck in an elevator with a stranger. Also had some important reflections on misogynoir and interracial relationships. Great sexual tension particularly in the beginning that hooked me from the start.

While I rooted for Alexa from the start, I can’t say the same for Drew. I couldn’t get past how horribly he treated his supposed best friend Carlos. However, I hated Alexa’s body commentary on/body shaming of herself and others—something that upsets me both in books and in life.

If you don’t like the miscommunication trope, this probably won’t be for you, which is why this is 3 stars for me. Wanted to love this but the main climax didn’t work for me.
