The ending of the previous book was forecasting a different turn of events. When you realise it might not turn out the expected way, you might worry the story is going to be harder to get into than before. It is not the case, and being in Sera's head throughout the whole book is amazing as she is very witty and funny. The events are not always easy to read about especially when perfect depicted, but they are indeed necessary for the story. one thing that is disappointing, but that is purely subjective, is how she has many pregnancy symptoms, some hints of it being drop here and there, and yet the book ends without covering that. Her thinking of what it would feel like to hold her kids as remembeing holding Jadis. Her seeing herself as a cave cat and too younger ones. Her wondering when was her last period. How she thinks Ash's gonna be an amazing father. Maybe I'm just too eager to see her embrace her all mummy era.
