I’m honestly sad about the way this series has progressed. The story is entertaining enough but I loved the first book because it felt really character-driven. By this book everyone’s personalities are just carbon copies of each other - some combination of quippy and… sultry, I guess? Just doesn’t feel like, in a cast of characters that has really expanded, there is any actual variation or distinct personality.
