I really liked this book but I wanted it to be a bit longer.
I really liked Eveline’s character and how kind Graeme was even though she is the daughter of his enemy. I liked how patient and respectful he was. I liked the beginning when Eveline started a friendship with Rorie but then Rorie was sort of forgotten in the story. I wanted to see more of Graeme’s brothers interacting with Eveline as I wanted to see if they really accepted her.
Even though the scenes with Graeme’s clan were upsetting, I liked how well written those scenes were as you could see clearly how Eveline felt. Then I liked how things started to work out (how the women wanted Eveline’s forgiveness) .
Then something happens and when it’s solved, the book ends.
I wanted to see more of the interactions that Eveline has with Graeme’s clan to see what it would look like now that they’ve accepted her. Also, I wanted to see more interactions with Eveline’s family as well as with Graeme’s family. Even though Graeme’s family is always there in the background, Rorie disappears as the story progresses and Graeme’s brothers aren’t fully developed.
I definitely want to read the next book in the series, even though I’m not sure if I’ll like it as much as this one.
