Truly the book where things really begin to pay off. The series has a habit of offering characters options that are easy, reasonable, convenient, necessary, etc, but watch out! :) And lo and behold. They do not always watch out. 
A book about vengeance and anger and what it means to obsess over the past. 
Decidedly too many vampires, but they're handled well enough.
