One of my favorite books of all time and wildly misrepresented by pop culture. Victor Frankenstein is the villain of this story from moment one and, despite the age of the story, I recognize in him the kind of men I've met with my entire life. This isn't a story about the science of creating man; it's a story about the ethics of creating man. It's a story about empathy and the consequences of our behavior on the people around us. It's about the power of nurture over nature.
