I wish everyone I know would read this book. Because Mance is not a typical activist, nor has he made up his mind before he goes on this journey of investigation in to how animals experience their lives, he is easy to believe and doesn’t get your hackles up. He’s preaching to the choir with me, but I genuinely believe that this throughly researched, readable, and passionate but measured exploration of animal life would touch even my most meat-eater of friends. The trouble is how to get them to try it.
