One of those books that reads a little different every time I pick it up. I first read this when I was 13, nearly 20 years ago. I've read it several times since and loved it each and every reread. 

The scene where Jack wrecks his own face is one of the most memorable and poignant moments I've ever read. It's tragic, and it's such a pure act of love. It moves me every time. 

Forever love this book.
