Bull Mountain by Brian Panowich

4.0

Very well done. A dark, but engrossing tale of an outlaw family on its inevitable confrontation with its "black sheep" son who has become the local sheriff. The characters are well-crafted, the plot delightfully twisting, and the dialog crisp and real.

One word of caution - pay attention to the year noted at the beginning of each chapter. I didn't realize the book spanned such a large length of time and I temporarily thought two characters (who share the same name, but are from different generations) were just one. Had to go back and reread a few chapters once I realized my error.
