Wicked Deeds on a Winter's Night by Kresley Cole

5.0

Bowen MacRieve has struggled with the loss of his mate. He's entered the Hie in hopes of winning the Key that could save her. His encounter with Mariketa the Awaited seems to have thwarted his plans. Not that Kaderin The Cold-Hearted & her determined mate Sabastian didn't hinder things either. After learning that Mariketa & her party didn't escape where he locked them in ... the repercussions of that act are heating up to start an all out war (never mind the brewing Accession).

He heads off to bring her back, but there's definitely a pull towards her, that he fights constantly. He starts to come around to the idea that Mariketa might be his mate reincarnated ... and sets about wooing the wee lass. There's nothing shrinking about this witch, and she really enjoys making life as difficult as possible for Bowen.

One of the best climatic endings in this series. Mariketa is one bad ass witch. Once she harnesses her powers, she's going to be absolutely astonishing.
