A Whole New Crowd by Tijan

4.0

I was drawn in and gobbled this book up so I’ll be fair and give it 4 stars, but it’s more a 3.5 for me.

Spoilers Start Here!

I liked Trey. Gorgeous and on top. That’s usually the mixture I like. But I liked Jace more! Does that make me slightly psycho? Maybe! But even when he was threatening to kill her and throwing her out I just knew he was gonna be better. I mean as hot as Tijan describes him and as the ultimate alpha male... who couldn’t want him!

3.5 from me because of some of the contradictory attributes of the characters bothered me. It’s a Tijan book... I was prepared for teenagers who over rule adults and drama so big it’s ridiculous. Those things I can enjoy in a book. But Taryn wanted a family so bad and loved her sister, yet the mother truly loved and wanted her and she hated and rejected her. Also, for such a badass who hated anyone who treated people bad, she sure hung with the wrong crowd. Then when Brian dies, it’s clearly more on her than Jace. Brian was looking into HER family issues. How did all the blame get put on Jace? How did she go from his family to wanting to kill him. I don’t know... a few parts just didn’t work for me and I wanted more from the end. I wanted her to look out from that first platform and see him. I wanted her to be nicer to Jace and understand him. But that’s just me....
