The Night Hunt by Alexandra Christo
3.0
So many things that I found great, but not enough of them to really love this book. The world it's set in is vastly interesting and while there was a decent amount of world building, it felt very limited in its application: we only ended up caring about the immediate plot which felt face-paced solved.
The found family aspect of this book caught me by surprise, and then was disappointed because we barely are getting to know the characters when all of a sudden they become a troupe and then somehow they all become super bonded to each other without the natural building up of those relationships. A very big tell vs show.
Romance-wise, it was built up nicely but overall felt disappointing, too. Seems like the theme for this book.
