All 600+ pages of this book felt like the beginning of a story. Normally a Schwab book takes a while to find its plot and then runs like a whirlwind to the end, but this one never seemed to pick up the pace.

I am excited to see what happens to Tes, and Kosika, but I also feel like I need to reread the Shades of Magic trilogy because I was a bit lost for a fair bit of this book as well.
