Book Lovers by Emily Henry

5.0

WHAT CAN I POSSIBLY SAY????? This book was perfect, I wish I could give it more stars. It has easily become my fave Emily Henry book. It hit all my buttons: nerdy puns, sassy banter, achy longing, hot romance, and a man who loves an unapologetically strong woman just as she is.

Book Lovers took the typical Hallmark formula and dumped it in a bowl, shook it around, asked for MORE, and then put itself on a platter for us. It was clever and made tired tropes unique and fresh that came across more as tongue-in-cheek homage than mocking. Henry's writing is so effortless and funny and heartbreaking.

I love Nora and Charlie. I love them together, I love them separately, I JUST LOVE THEM. The banter between them was INCREDIBLE. I was so excited for ANY scene between them (not just because they're hot...but also yes because they're hot) because I was hungry to see the next way they could possibly out-smart-ass each other.

There were so many aspects of Nora's journey that came together so seamlessly and it felt so fulfilling in the end. I loved her relationship with her sister, I loved how she cared for Dusty and nurtured her creativity, I loved that she didn't have to change who she was and what she valued in order to find her happiness. They all felt genuine and realistic and really pulled me into the book.

I originally pre-ordered it for my kindle, but then immediately ordered a physical copy because I wanted to go through and annotate my favorite parts.

It for sure passed my 'escape test' and will be recommending this book to everyone I ever meet.
