Sweet story of unlikely friendship.
This book follows the 3 teenage girls throughout one summer. Although the story moves along, it kind of feels like nothing really happens. But I suppose sometimes that's how summer feels. I did feel like there was a rush in the last 30 pages to wrap the climax of the story up.
I appreciated how the girls had a falling out but chose to work things out and stay friends. I think that's an important thing for girls (and women) to keep in mind.
I think it's important to point out that there is some language in here about being pudgy and being skinny and being a slut. These are things we collectively don't really accept any longer these days but the broader conversation hadn't really picked up back in 2012 when this was written.
