Twilight's Dawn by Anne Bishop

5.0

I enjoyed all four of these novellas quite a lot. I haven't read the "spin-off" books (#4, 7, 8) yet but there were only a couple of references that led me to believe having read them would have increased my understanding. Even so, I don't feel like not having read them yet diminished my enjoyment or understanding of the stories in this book at all.

They were all excellent stories, deepening my connection with the characters and the world. Each story becoming increasingly bitter sweet.

I have to be honest, I swung between bawling like a baby and grinning like an idiot through nearly all of the last story. It's a game changer.

Well done book that took the emotional investment in the characters to date and ramped it up several notches.

Now I'm going to read 4, 7, & 8.

It only seems like I'm jumping around. #4 is a prequel and 7 & 8 are related to #4. I'm treating those three like a spin off series and reading the ones related to the original trilogy first.

Yeah. That's the ticket.
