The book started off really well and I actually really enjoyed it up until the climax. I believe it happened too late in the story and was a big issue to overcome in not a lot of time. I feel like the characters did not have enough time come back from it and left me extremely unsatisfied with the ending. I did not root for the characters to be together at the end. The love story was not convincing after the climax.
the climax was painful to witness, it happened way to late in the story and I also think it was too big of an issue for it to be resolved happily. I ended up not rooting for the romance and just skimmed the book till the end. She forgave him way too easily after the horrible things he did and said, he barely grovelled. If the turning point had to happen earlier, he might have redeemed himself in my eyes.
What he said was horrible. He held a gun to her head (hard enough to leave a bruise), and he basically confirmed all her fears about him. All the build up for him not to trust her even a little

Disappointed cause it started off really good and I actually liked both the FMC and MMC and did root for them at the beginning.
