Everyone should read this book. I historically have a difficult time following current world and historical events and feeling like I have a good grasp on them (hello white American privilege I know). As someone who has been horrified by the genoc*de currently being committed to the Palestinian people, this book did an amazing job capturing the life of Ahed and the trauma Palestinians endure, while also including information on history of Israel’s occupation, apartheid, and treatment of Palestinians - especially in recent years. This book made a difficult subject approachable for me and I will continue learning more.
Moderate: Police brutality, Murder, Hate crime, Emotional abuse, Islamophobia, Colonisation, Torture, Death, and Gun violence
Minor: Blood and Vomit
