Radio Silence by Alice Oseman

5.0

This book was really incredible. I love that it wasn’t a typical YA romance, in fact it focused almost entirely on the friendships between the characters and I was beautiful to see them all develop throughout the book. The main characters Frances, Aled, Daniel, Raine and Carys were all so beautiful developed, especially with their flaws and fears that your heart just melts for them, and you really can find yourself relating to the things they are going through. As someone who knows what it feels like to be alone, or think that I am entirely alone at a given period throughout life, Aled’s story really hit home. The heartbreaking honestly that comes after the worrying mystery and that is followed with nothing but showers of love made the book hard to put down. Also, we love queer leads, especially when the whole book isn’t simply about coming out, it has a deeper story rooted in their own personal mental struggles, family issues, school, and friendship. BEAUTIFUL. *chefs kiss*

Daniel and Aled are adorable and I called it early on and I love them and love that they also aren’t the main focus of the book. They are just merely a part of the story that surrounds this group of friends and it is executed so beautifully.
