Loved the story but the pace was a bit slow for me. And what with all the in-text dashes — there might be at least one of those per paragraph!
Still very original, and it manages to be as satisfying as the first book as it unravels. Somehow, the main characters were a distraction to all the great secondary characters — I want more Swarm!
Loved the world building and the attention to language, as well as the feeling that everything is in everything.

And I have to say that any sci fi that includes fungi has my heart!
