Hell's Paradise: Jigokuraku, Vol. 4 by Yuji Kaku

4.0

“THIS IS STILL MERELY
CONJECTURE, BUT...
IT'S NOT THAT "NO
ONE EVER RETURNED."
RATHER, "ONLY A
MAN IN FULL BLOOM
RETURNED."

“FROM
THE START,
SOMEONE OR
SOMETHING
CONCEIVED IT
THIS WAY...”

This volume dives into some key figures, this time focusing on Aza Chobe and his brother Toma, alongside more of Gabimari, and some of newcomer Mei. I love the difference in these two storylines as they play out side by side; Gabimaru learns the balance of strength and weakness in Tao to become a stronger fighter, Aza Chobe does it because he’s a gigachad. Speaking of which, we get some amazing fight scenes with my boy, Tamiya. Despite being one-handed, he learns to fight with his handicap almost instantly. The duality of the villains either diving more into their nature, or turning to a new leaf makes this volume so important for our characters.
