My Year of Rest and Relaxation by Ottessa Moshfegh

5.0

Between the unlikeable rich and beautiful narrator with problematic views, her deranged therapist, horrid love interest and shallow best friend. This book is so dreary its absolutely great. I enjoyed every second of it. The dread the reader feels as they slowly approach September 11th, while the narrator talks about freedom and rebirth makes it even more intense. This book had me laughing out loud and also contemplating the idea of a year of drug induced sleep. I can see how people will either love or hate this book, but I chose love.
