Whew *fans self*. This is SP's first novel and she did not come to play with my feelings. If I ever started a romance fantasy draft (which maybe I should??), Archer, the brooding and devasting duke of my dreams, and Poppy, a wonderfully stubborn botanist and boss-lady in the streets and the sheets, would be one of my top couple picks. Y'all, I didn't think we (myself, Archer, and Poppy) were going to survive this but thank goodness we did.
As someone who got into historical romances with some hesitation, TDIT has to be one of my favorites. And I LOVE that it pushes the typical boundaries and tropes of historicals. Angsty, passionate, risque, and sexy-- these characters and their storylines could have existed today, last century, or in the 1700s. TBH, I can't wait to read it again.
