Hat Trick
by Chelsea Curto
Rating this was a bit hard at first because there were parts where I felt like this would be a 5 star book and I really loved it
I cried a lot especially going through Riley’s journey. It felt so raw and it was beautifully done in my opinion
I did really like Riley and Lexi together and I loved seeing them finally get together after seeing Riley crush on Lexi
This could’ve been 4,5-5 stars BUT there were times were I didn’t like Lexi that much and while I absolutely the focus we had on women in male dominated fields in the last few books, it felt kind of forced in this one
Like sometimes the characters would hold this monologue about how hard it is being a woman in a man’s world (and it is, everything they say is true but) it just felt so forced? Like those monologues came out of nowhere and it felt like the author thought she needed to add this into this book because the others had this focus but didn’t know how so she just randomly added these sentences
